Gentil Ferreira Square is located in the heart of the commercial district of Alecrim, Natal. It is a very busy place that accommodates various types of activities. The square was in a precarious state of conservation and needed revitalization. Through the Model Office course, taught by Professor Débora Nogueira Pinto, an on-site visit was carried out, where the daily lives of its users were observed, recording visible needs through photographs, and gathering additional information through interviews that only a daily visitor to the square could provide. In addition to its structural problems, it also has serious security issues, especially at night, when it is frequented by drug users and prostitutes. During the day, it has a high number of street vendors. Based on the problems identified during the visit, we developed a project that proposes the revitalization of the square in an economical way, with highly durable, easy-to-maintain furniture that best suits the daily activities that take place there. Through the created environments and the furnishings used, we hope that the quality of life of its users will improve and that the square will become a place for rest and leisure, and not just a place to pass through.
